The unemployment rate rose to 6.7 percent and the nation’s employers cut some 533,000 jobs in November, according to the The New York Times. The decline is the largest one-month loss since December 1974 and promises to be the longest recession since the Great Depression. Also, underemployment (12.5 percent) is the highest since the statistic was first compiled in 1994.
