Barack Obama’s rise to the highest office in the land flies in the face of stereotypes surrounding our boys. But our dreams for our little men did not start with Obama’s race for the White House and won’t end with his success. Three hundred boys, students at the Excellence Charter School of Bedford Stuyvesant in Brooklyn, will see to that. We asked these young men to write letters to Barack Obama telling him what it means to them to have a Black president and what they hope he will achieve. Below are their letters in their own words.
