The National Newspaper Publishing Association, comprised of Black newspaper owners around the country, is worried after President Obama’s $787 billion stimulus package has no items that will help keep the papers alive, according to the Wilmington Journal. One year ago the President visited the North Carolina Black Press and pledged his support to Black news outlets if elected. Today, NNPA applauds the President’s fight to rescue the downturned economy, yet are concerned with the lack of specific inclusion. -CJ
