Timi asked Brittany to dance at a medical school party and sparks began to fly the minute they hit the dance floor. “The moment he dipped me, I knew I was going to give him a chance,” she says. The rest is history. See their wedding and share their love!
I'll Love You Forever
“I don’t think I can say enough positive things about him,” says Brittany. “I chose to marry him because I couldn’t imagine not talking to him and being with him forever because he has become such a part of me.”
“My wedding dress was an ivory Tara Keely gown,” says the bride. “I did some searching myself to get an idea of what I liked and to learn the bridal dress lingo. I really recommend that because I was less overwhelmed and had in my mind what I wanted when I went shopping with my family.”
“When I did my twirl on the runway, I felt beautiful,” Brittany says of the moment she found the perfect wedding gown. “Plus, the dress wasn’t heavy and it had a short train, making it perfect for dancing at the wedding. My mom and cousin loved it too!”
“I wanted an updo hairstyle with a full bun,” says Brittany. “I am pretty non-adventurous when it comes to hair, so I enlisted my good friend from college to help me find a hairstyle. She sent me five pictures, and I loved the slight messy low bun of one and chose that for my special day.”
Brittany chose these chic Vera Wang lavender flats for her wedding shoes. “My husband is shorter than me, and usually we could care less, but he did ask that on our wedding day I wear flats,” she shares. “Pictures can be kind of awkward when the bride is towering over the groom.”
"The first look was amazing," Brittany tells us. "It was nice to have a moment to ourselves and really get to enjoy it. Everything moves so fast and there is so much going on that there rarely is just time for the two of you."
The bridesmaids’ shantung silk Dessy dresses complemented them divinely. “I looked longer for a bridesmaid dress than a wedding dress,” says Brittany. “I really wanted one dress for everyone, and I wanted a style that complemented multiple body types since my friends are all different shapes. I ended up loving a strapless dress with a full skirt, mainly because of the beautiful shade of purple it came in.“
“Our love is a testament to the fact that all things happen at the right time,” says Brittany. “I met him at the moment that I was most open to a relationship. Sometimes life happens and you just have to go with it and enjoy the ride.”
Timi and Brittany chose to marry at Shiloh Baptist Church in Alabama because it was her grandparents' church home. "We both wanted to get married in a church before God because we believe he has to be present in your marriage for it to work." She chose to walk down the aisle with her father to the classical sounds of "Cannon In D."
"We had a cocktail hour prior to the wedding reception at the Wynlakes Country Club," says Brittany. "The reception began with introductions of the wedding party and our parents. Next, we entered and performed a small dance number."
"Tall, silver candelabras cascaded down long estate tables with glass tea light candles," says Brittany. "Silver chiavari chairs and custom satin linens completed the romantic look and feel of our reception."
After entering the reception party to Michael Jackson’s “The Way You Make Me Feel,” the newlyweds did a sassy intro dance that was all improvisational then swayed together for their official first dance to the romantic sounds of Babyface’s “Every Time I Close My Eyes.”
Brittany and Timi just could not stop kissing on their wedding day, and who could blame them? Romance was definitely in the air, and they were celebrating the greatest day of their love story. What a picture perfect couple!
“I wasn’t the type of girl who had planned out her whole wedding by age 10,” says Brittany. “When we talked, the main things we both wanted were a traditional church wedding and for people to be able to let their hair down and have fun at our reception. I think we stuck to our plan. Everyone had a good time and just enjoyed dancing and celebrating.”
