Yvonne Orji is single!
The
Insecure star revealed that she had broken up with boyfriend former NFL player /ESPN Analyst Emmanuel Acho on her
Jesus & Jollof podcast with co-host Luvvie Ajayi during their Valentine’s Day episode.
After Ajayi shared news of her own engagement, Orji opened up to listeners of the show about her new relationship status.
“I am…newly single,” she said before jumping into the
Living Single theme song.
But she also clarified that all was good on her end and that she had moved on.
“I just have to say, the reason why I am so good and so happy is because I know how God works,” she said. “I have seen God’s MO so many times, that like in the way that you can be like, ‘Aw man, but I thought this was it! I thought this was the one!’ God be like, ‘Oh that’s what you thought? I got the goods for you.’”
“It happened in my career when someone offered me a show and I was like, ‘This is it!’ and then the show went to nowhere and then I got borderline depressed. Cut to ‘Insecure.’ Cut to my life has changed. And it happened again with the house.”
Orji recently bought her first house, which she is busy renovating and furnishing.
Orji and Acho had been dating for a few months before becoming Instagram official back last May
when the actress shared their love with fans for the first time.
She also confirmed on the podcast that she is still a virgin. She has been vocal about her strong faith, and her decision to abstain from sex until marriage.
