Seems Quincy Jones’ daughters had to have a stern talk with their dad about interview etiquette.
The music legend issued an apology for his recent string of wild interviews, sharing via social media, “A couple weekends ago, my six daughters (who I’m beyond proud of) took me aside to do a surprise ‘family intervention … and I have LEARNED MY LESSON!”
Jones found himself in hot water recently after two interviews, one with Vulture and another with GQ, went viral. In his interview with Vulture, Jones claims he once dated Ivanka Trump and that Richard Pryor and Marlon Brando had a brief affair, which Pryor’s widow later confirmed.
In his interview with GQ, Jones claimed he had 22 girlfriends all over the world. He added that there were stipulations, however, to dating these women, “Well, my daughters gave me new numbers, because they kept saying, ‘Dad, you can’t go out with girls younger than us.’ I said, ‘Y’all are not young anymore.…’ So the new numbers are 28 to 42. They gave them to me.”
In his apology, Jones added, “I am sorry to anyone whom my words offended, and I am especially sorry to my friends who are still here with me and those who aren’t.”
