If you feel like it's getting harder and harder to control your weight, you may be on to something.
A recent study published in the Obesity Research & Clinical Practice found that even at the same levels of food intake and exercise, it's harder for adults today to maintain the same weight as those 20 to 30 years ago, reports The Atlantic.
The study found that any given person in 2006 eating the same amount of calories, protein and fat and with the same amount of exercise as someone in 1988 would be about 10 percent heavier.
Although there are no definite causes, experts believe the difference could be due to a laundry list of factors including exposure to more chemicals, heightened use of prescription drugs, artificial sweeteners and even bacteria found in meat products.
