Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade Cover the February Issue of ESSENCE

I find this article on Gabrielle and Dwayne Wade offensive, what has gotten into Essence Magazine for flaunting such a relationship...a man that is separated is STILL 'legally' married??!! I have completely lost all confidence in Essence magazines core values and will be cancelling my subscription immediately. Marriage, especially black marriages have enough to contend without one of our valued news sources glamorizing Adultery...

I too was very dissapointed that the monthly issue featuring Dwayne Wade on the cover with Gabriell contained pictures with both Dwayne and the single man of the month, with their under wear showing. As an adjunct professor I made it a point to show both pictures to one of my cl***es. I told them how dissapointed I was with Essence showing the worst of us. I know this great magazine is capable of doing so much better. Please do not let something like this happen again, I beg you.

I looked at my significant other's Feb 2012 issue of Essence and was very dissapointed. in two photographs:

pg 77's "Single Man of the Month"

and

pg 104-105's photo of Gabrielle Union
and Dwyane Wade

What do both of these photos have in common, you ask?

Both glorify the "fashion" of 'saggin' one's pants to expose their underwear. What is up with that??? Here we are, as a people, trying to get our young men to stop doing this very thing; and yet, a large circulation Black Magazine chooses to embrace and promote it in living color.

I would love to meet the single man of the month< as far as gabby and Wade, I have nthing to say at the end of the day only GOD can judge them. it's not right to for him to cheat on his wife with her but hey it's life it happens all the time, some people just don't care.

I am not a Dwayne Wade fan (D-Wad for short). When he came to Dallas for the All Star game he was not friendly like the other players and hid behind the no fan zone to keep from signing autographs. And lets not mention his cl***less acts during the championship last year. Gabriel you can do better and something tells me he's gonna prove it to you down the line.

First, I would like to say that if my daughter hadn't given me a subscription, I wouldn't even be reading Essence, because it has changed so much. The magazine is paper thin with very few articles of any real substance (wigs, weaves and too much focus on hair, skin color and ****sexual). I was disgusted that you would feature two lesbian women to represent the 60+,'finding love..."As a single older woman, I was looking to see a Male and Female. How sickening and disgusting. Marriage is between a male and female, no matter how some folk want to change the order. These two old ladies ought to know better with this foolisness by now, and they both need some serious reality check..same sex marriage will never be a 'real' marriage.

This was rumored some time ago. All I can say is Gabby better think twice about having his children. He is rich and will take you to court for his babies. Wow what a guy!

He was still married when they got together. Yes, it does matter. That's part of what's wrong with our society, people deciding it's ok to make their own rules and forgetting that God has already established them. So, it says people think they know better than God.
The same women who have a hissy when a man cheats are saying it's ok that he was married when they started?

Gabrielle has been known to get around quite a bit in the NBA and Dwayne is not attractive and is just happy to have someone famous and attractive. Him fighting his wife for full custody of his kids was really low too. I don't get why men don't get that when you hurt the MOTHER you hurt the kids (Steve Harvey too). How can a man possibly think they can F over the woman who gave birth to his children and strip her of everything and his children won't be hurt by seeing their mother hurting?!?!?! It only says these men have the money and can do whatever they want.

This is a beautiful couple exteriorly...but I think the cover this month would have been better served to do an expose' of the Tuskegee Airmen and how the African American Community should go out-unite and make this movie a blockbuster hit. Red Tails

With the demise of the black marriage that Essence points out to us on a regular I found it offensive to flaunt the relationship between Gabrielle and Dwayne. The story tried to smooth over what some people feel about the hook up. Just because she was not the first to "date" him did not make it right. The other women he enjoyed Miami with were just as wrong, because the man was still married. When will people learn to say hey, go handle your business and holla when the divorce is final?!

It's about time Essence changed up the personality coverpage!

I enjoyed the article about Dwayne & Gabrielle. Based on the article, it appears they are an exclusively dating couple who have faced some challenges in their relationship - no different than what you and I may have encountered but without the public scrutiny. I wish them well in their journey...

Again to Essence... thanks for the change-up it was truly needed!!!!

The cover of Essence is a great picture of two beautiful people who happens to be in a 'situation' that a lot of ordinary people are currently in; check yourself and the people you know. As far as a comment that someone stated that they would prefer Gaby by herself than with Dwayne is nothing but self centered hateration. Life is a picture with or without someone; Like Gabrielle, I would rather share My picture with someone I care for than alone. Let's start with "Loving" ourselves so we can see love through the eyes of others.

I truly and sincerely hope that Gabrielle was not instrumental in breaking up that man's marriage because his ex-wife certainly feels that way. I have heard and read a lot of God awful things about Gabrielle's conduct around sports figures and the entertainment industry as a whole. If she did not break them up, then may God bless their union but if she was messing around with him while he was married, then know there is going to be hell to pay for that. Remember, there are two innocent little boys exposed to all of this so come correct.
