Just this past summer, Jobs resigned as the head of Apple, stating "I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come."
In light of his passing, the President of the United States and the First Lady released a statement highlighting Jobs' achievements and impact around the world.
"Michelle and I are saddened to learn of the passing of Steve Jobs. Steve was among the greatest of American innovators -- brave enough to think differently, bold enough to believe he could change the world, and talented enough to do it," read the statement.
"By making computers personal and putting the internet in our pockets, he made the information revolution not only accessible, but intuitive and fun."
Steve Jobs will be missed but never forgotten.
