Many of us have grown up with Regina King, whether you met her as Brenda on "227" or Dana on "Friday" along side Ice Cube and Chris Tucker — she's brought us numerous smiles and remained a constant part of our lives via film and TV. King's garnered much success including receiving a NAACP Image award for her role in 2005's "Ray." She's since been in several movies and TV shows and is currently kicking ass and cleaning up crime on the mean streets L.A. on TNT's "Southland." Now at the age of 40 and raising a 15 year old son, Ian Jr., Regina has come into her own right. TV's 227

Regina King made her acting debut in 1985 on "227" as Brenda Jenkins. The show lasted until 1990.

How Stell Got Her Groove Back

Regina King has acted in many movies that's made us laugh, perhaps none more memorable than her role in 1998's "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" as Vanessa — Stell's (Angela Basset) sister.

Two Can Play That Game

In late summer 2001, Regina King attended the premiere of "Two Can Play That Game" starring Vivica A. Fox and Morris Chestnut. She was also at bride's mate at Vivica A. Fox's wedding.

Romantic Comedy

With several acting roles under Regina's belt, she decided to take on a lighter role — as she did in 2003's "A Cinderella Story." She played Rhonda, a diner worker who took the main character, Sam, to find a costume for a party.

Smiling from ear to ear, Regina King was thrilled to be honored for her acting chops in the mega hit "Ray." She was awarded the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture award by the NAACP Image Awards.

Silver Screen Laughs

In another comedic role, she brought many laughs and smiles to the silver screen in "Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous" with Sandra Bullock.

Ray

In a role that put her back on the map, Regina King stole the screen as Margie Hendricks in 2004's critically acclaimed film, "Ray."

Rarely does Regina miss out on an awards show. See her presenting at the 2007 ESPY awards along side NFL players Matt Leinart and Vince Young.
