Sending racy text messages to a love interests can seem fun and exciting at the time, but if a man is cheating he creates a digital trail with his each text.

NYTimes.com featured an article about text messages being the "Digital Lipstick on the Collar," as Tiger's not the only high profile person to get caught up in an infidelity scandal that listed text messages as evidence. Divorce lawyers say they have seen an increase in cases in the past year where a wronged spouse has offered text messages to show that a partner has strayed. The American Bar Association began offering seminars this fall for marital attorneys on how to use electronic evidence--text messages, browsing history and social networks--in proving a case," the article reads.

According to Lee Raine, director of the Pew Internet and American Life Project, there has been an "overall cultural shift in which people have become increasingly careless about revealing personal information they cannot take back."

More over, divorce lawyers expect the number of cases that use text messages as evidence of infidelity to grow as younger more tech-savvy couples get married.
