Atlanta Cop: Suspended Following Violent Remarks Toward Mayor


An Atlanta cop and head of the local police union has been suspended following him sharing he wanted to "beat (mayor Shirley Franklin) in the head with a baseball bat," for the treatment of city officers, according to the Associated Press. The mayor is the first Black woman to lead the city and is in her final year after eight years in office. The office released a an apology shortly after and the mayor replied in a statement that his comments were deplorable. -CJ
