Ex-NBA star Jayson Williams—whose life took a tragic turn back in 2002 when he accidentally shot and killed his hired driver at his New Jersey mansion and then tried to cover up the death—was found drunken and agitated in a New York hotel by police who said he appeared suicidal. Officers were called around 4 A.M. after a report that the former New Jersey Nets star was suicidal, police said, according to MSNBC.com. Upon arrival, authorities say they found empty bottles of prescription drugs in the hotel suite. Williams was then stunned with a Taser, put in handcuffs and taken to a hospital for psych evaluation. In 2004, Williams was convicted of trying to cover up the shooting death of Costas “Gus” Christofi. A jury acquitted him of aggravated manslaughter, but deadlocked on a reckless manslaughter count. He has been free on bail since the shooting and a retrial is pending.—ZH
