Alice Walker: Shares Her Private Notes from Oprah, Langston Hughes and More

 

Alice Walker took her father's advice to heart to keep records, and now her 40 years of notes, photos and stories are on exhibit in Atlanta, according to the Associated Reports. The personal collection includes personal moments of Walker's live including an accident that left her blind in one eye, getting married to a white lawyer, notes from friends Langston Hughes and Oprah Winfrey, and what was going through her mind as she wrote her Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, "The Color Purple." -CJ
