Buying Black: It’s Time We Take a Stand

If the company doesn’t have minority interests at heart, then don’t support them. That’s the sentiment of Gary L. Lampley, the president of the Black Retail Action Group, who is encouraging African-American consumers to only buy from firms that hire and promote minorities and use us in marketing and ad campaigns, according to Women’s Wear Daily. “Diversity is even more important in these tough economic times. It is time to encourage the fashion industry to address the need for diversity and industry inclusion,” says Lampley.—ZH
