Runway Beauty Break Down

Get a fresh, healthy look with the must-have beauty looks taken straight from the catwalks of New York Fashion Week fall 2009.

It could be due to the recession, but the beauty concepts presented during New York Fashion Week fall 2009 seemed less whimsical and more direct than in seasons past. Take a glance at the most exciting shifts in cosmetic trends.

At Jason Wu, vibrant pouts that  pervaded in fall 2008 gave way to lips stained with deep rich purple hues that embodied an air of confidence to an otherwise bare face.

To achieve this look:

*Creating the illusion of perfect skin is easy with Alison Raffaele products. First, apply Raffaele’s True Concealer under eyes and on dark discolored areas. It blends easily and won’t cake or collect in fine lines. Follow with her Reality Base Foundation in a corresponding color that works wonders to refresh and rehydrate the skin. Then set with a transparent finishing powder.

*With your fingers, smudge on Bobbie Brown’s Pot Rouge on both your lips and cheeks in Chocolate Cherry.

*For more definition, line lips with a Cremestick liner from MAC in Velvetella.

Tracy Reese kept makeup fresh and approachable highlighting dewy skin with a warm glow that works for both spring and fall.

To achieve this look:

*Start with a tinted moisturizer like MD Skincare All-In-One Tinted Moisturizer Sunscreen SPF 15. This single-step product gives you more bang for your buck because it combines the benefits of essential moisture with sunscreen protection and color.

*Set with a sheer loose powder from Bobbie Brown that complements your complexion to create a smooth, flawless finish.

*Line eyes with a soft brown pencil in Basic Brown from Jane Iredale.

*Using a blush brush, sweep Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Spiced Cider across your cheek bones.

*Finish with a sheer pink gloss, try Philosophy’s Raspberry Sorbet Lip Shine.
