After disappearing from the public eye when her mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew were tragically murdered last October, talented Oscar-winning songbird Jennifer Hudson returned to the limelight by belting the country’s national anthem during Sunday’s Super Bowl XLIII. The “Dreamgirls” star return to the stage brought many tears to the eyes of players and fans with her powerful performance that turns out to be lip-synched, according to Yahoo! News.
“This was such an important performance…There’s too many variables to go live. I would never recommend any artist go live, because the slightest glitch would devastate the performance,” says Super Bowl show producer Ricky Minor. We are happy that Hudson looks well and clearly ready to make 2009 a comeback year for her both personally and professionally. The star is set to also perform at this year’s 51st Grammy Awards taking place this Sunday. -QS
