Obama’s Team Suggests Congress Delays Digital TV Switch

 

For months now we've been hearing about the impending switch from analog to digital broadcasts which is said to be more efficient. But President-elect Barack Obama and his transition team are urging Congress to postpone the February 17 switch, saying that too many Americans, particularly the poor and minorities, just aren't prepared for the switch, according to the Associated Press. The team also mentions that the Commerce Department has also run out of money to subsidize coupons for convertor boxes for consumers. —WLW
