The body of Brandon McClelland was found in the middle of an occupied road in Paris, Texas. Police announced the case as a hit-and-run by an unknown driver, but evidence has surfaced that two White men may have picked up, mutilated and dismembered McClelland, according to Finalcall.com. In fact, forensics performed by the Texas Rangers found blood from McClelland and other DNA evidence on the undercarriage of the truck. This new evidence has the victim’s family calling the death a “Jasper-style” lynching (referring to the infamous 1998 killing of James Byrd Jr.)
“They tied my son to that truck and dragged him until his body parts were detached,” said Jacqueline McClelland, the victim’s mother, in an interview with The Final Call. “His body was so destroyed that it could not even be embalmed by the funeral home. This is a hate crime.”
Members of the New Black Panther Party, Houston Millions More Movement and the Nation of Islam have tried to gather more information on the crime by interviewing witnesses. They are currently planning a massive town hall meeting at the end of the month.
