The Met Gala is a spectacle to say the least.

Every year, a theme is conjured up to allow the who’s who of Hollywood to challenge their fashion sense. This year’s theme was Camp. And if you know anything about anything, or if you read the back of Lena Waithe’s statement jacket, you’d know that camp was invented by Black drag queens.

Camp made its way into the music industry through artists like Cam’ron, Lil’ Kim and pop culture moments like B.A.P.S. and fashion icons like Dapper Dan.

Basically, camp is a way to be as extra as possible with fashion while making it fun. This theme was interpreted in many ways.
