I'm here with the glamorous, iconic, beautiful, Nichelle Nichols, thank you so much for joining us. Thank you for having me, I'm honored to be here. Well, I have seen you many times as a guest at our Black Women in Hollywood event. This year you are on honoree. Yes. Tell me why it was so important to be political as an actress, then? I, I don't know how to answer that because I've always been political. [LAUGH] I'm If it's right for us, it's right for everyone, and if it's not right for everyone, it's probably not right for us. And so in the position I've had and the, the blessing of being in. I'm always aware of what we're doing, where we're doing it, how we're doing it. Does it come, is it good. Is it, is this good for us, isn't this good for everyone? You know, I don't want to be part of some little group over here that is only good for, for us. If it's good for us, it's good for everyone. Why do you feel it is so important for black women to gather together at this event every year? Whom else do we have? We are black women. And I want, to represent at every angle, what I hold highest. And what I hold dearest as a human being. And to be an example, if at all. I expect of myself, again as I say, I expect of myself what is the highest good that I think of, that I should, where I should be. Because there are people watching me too. This big and that big. And on, and young women who come, especially young black women who come up to me, and say that, I want to be like you, when I, when I come, become your age. [LAUGH] How old do you think I am? [LAUGH] [LAUGH]. And, and if you can take something and turn it into humor you can get through so much more, than preaching at people. And by being, you've said it all. And so when someone asks me I know how, I know what to answer. So if you always kinda ex, expect the best of yourself you're gonna get the best of your, yourself.
