In this episode of ESSENCE Now, Joseline Hernandez discusses her future on 'Love & Hip Hop Atlanta,' personal trainer Robert Brace demonstrates easy exercises for abs and butt, and we discuss the Season 2 premiere of 'Insecure.'
[BLANK_AUDIO] I'm Makho Ndlovu, and today on Essence Now, Joseline Hernandez gives us all the tea on her status with love and hip hop. Robert Brace shows us how he helped fashion blogger Kayla Walker lose over twenty pounds in twenty-eight days. Plus, Slayed or Shade is back! But, right now it's time for the Hot List. The biggest stories you're buzzing about today. Girl's Trip raked in over $30 million in it's opening weekend, which is more than the Films entire budget. And while we're still reeling from that grapefruit scene and the fineness that is Kofi Siriboe, some folks left the theater with another question. Simplyangie tweeted, just one Girls Trip ain't gonna cut it. A sequel is a must for the culture. And Luxurious pondered, so for the sequel to Girls Trip, I see Dina getting married and they all reunite for this joyous occasion. The wood vibes, but with women. Well, Jada Pinkett Smith says it's a possibility. She told the UK TV show Lorraine, quote, I think with the success of a movie a sequel will happen. They're saying that we've taken R-rated comedies out of their slump. So it's a nice moment for us for sure. [SOUND] Another woman has come forward accusing usher of exposing her to herpes. And she is seeking a reported $40 million from the singer. Now while the story has spawned countless jokes on social media, the disease is no laughing matter. According to the Center for Disease Control, one in six people have herpes and many don't even know it. And it's the stigma surrounding the disease which keeps so many people silent. So here are the facts. There are two Herpes viruses. Herpes simplex 1 which is the virus that causes cold sores and herpes simplex 2 which is genital herpes. Genital herpes is spread through sex and skin-to-skin contact which means you can get it even if you use a condom. Herpes can be easily mistaken for a pimple or an ingrown hair so you should see a doctor if you expect you or your partner exhibits symptoms. While there's no cure for herpes there are medicines to prevent and shorten outbreaks. For more information visit the center for disease control at cdc.gov.>> The war between team [UNKNOWN] and team Lawrence is on. And the season premiere of insecure, we were all on the edge of our seats as the two had what we thought was makeup sex, only to see Loras walk out right after. W.T.F.? @Lexas_Coupe tweeted, "The fact that their I miss you sex was 2.5 seconds has bothered my spirit," to which @QueenSheba2787 responded, "Was it 'I miss you' or 'I hate you' .... I'm trying to figure out... too many emotions". I'm trying to figure it out, too many emotions. So what do you think? Was Lawrence being super petty by sleeping with Esa while he's in a situationship with Tasha? Or is all fair in love and sex since it was Esa the one who cheated on him? Send us your comments right now. Using the #essencenow because we're talking about it and Slader Shade next. It's Tuesday, July 25th, and it's time for Essence Now. [MUSIC] Welcome to Essence Now. I'm your host Makho Ndlovu, hey Twitter fan, what's up y'all? Come talk to us right now using the #EssenceNow or email us firstname.lastname@example.org. If you ever wanna come on the show to sound off on hot topics. And now Now, let's get into some Slayed or Shade! Our panelists today are actress and star of the upcoming NBC series "Marlon" Essence Atkins, Laura Stylez co-host of New York's Hot 97 Ebro in the Morning, and Essence.com Entertainment Editor Danielle Kwateng-Clark. Welcome, ladies! << [LAUGH] << Thank you! << Hey! Alright, let's dive right in. I'm sure most of you were glued to your TV on Sunday night For the return of HBO's Insecure. But can we talk about that very last scene, when Lawrence unexpectedly came through to get his mail, and then realized he left some things in the bathroom? What did you leave in the bathroom, Lawrence? [LAUGH] [LAUGH] Any hoo, just when you think he's going to leave, bam! Lawrence gives Issa that good ole stroke. [LAUGH] But was Lawrence being super petty for playing with Issa's emotions? Or was Issa wrong for not appreciating Lawrence when she had him? Panelists, let me see those panels. All right, was that insecure quickie a slayed or a shade? And one, two, three, go! [BLANK_AUDIO] Slayed, shade, okay, Danielle, let's start with you. Okay, so y'all are gonna hate me. [LAUGH] Why am I gonna hate you? Tell us, tell us. Go ahead. But I'm low key team Lawrence a little bit, I know most people aren't, well, most women aren't. But I feel like when you cheat, you cannot dictate how somebody moves on or when they move on, right? So him coming over and getting his mail was innocent, the sex, you know, it happens. They both agreed. Into it, they both were into it. I feel bad about her feelings but, I mean, it was kind of sexy, I don't know. Sometimes feeling sexy is->> It was sexy and consensual. And consensual, all right, Essence. Let's jump over to you. No I agree, I think that In those situations, you don't get to dictate what someone decides is the next thing. You already betrayed them. You disrespected them. The trust has vanished and eroded. So now it's like, all's fair. And it's not about love and war, but it's like. Sometimes you do things in the moment that you don't necessarily anticipate or consider what the consequences are going to be down the line. You know what I mean? And they already had this connection, this love, this whatever and that passion erupted for a short period of time. [LAUGH] 2.5 seconds. But it happened, know what I mean. And we're grownups. [LAUGH] We have to take the responsibility for whatever those weaknesses are. And I'm sorry, the last point that I have to make is I'm kinda tired of the idea. The misnomer that women can't have Sex without it meaning something, like I can get my rocks off too. I'm not, not everybody is going to emotionally drain me and I feel committed to them, that's not how we work. [CROSSTALK] I'm looking team Lawrence too okay, but in this chance I was Damn it Lawrence. You're not even heal the ads. You're still hurt. She still hurts. Everyone still hurts. So having sex like that I just felt that was like, it wasn't gonna make anything better. And I think that at the end both of them are gonna walk away hard even more. You know what I mean. [CROSSTALK] That's the only way I looked at it cuz I was like, this is not healthy guys. [NOISE] The only way, yeah. Who are about it. Cuz for the most part, I'm like you cheated. Right. Right. So listen, you made your bed, now lay in it. Lay in it, literally. And I agree with your points, and I agree with your points. But I just felt like it just wasn't healthy. Well you're right, it's not necessarily the healthy choice. God. [LAUGH] Let's hear what social media has to say. Let's check in with our girls. Kayla who's tracking all of your social media comments. Hey. What are they saying? My god. Mixed feelings. People don't know how to feel about it so Sheri Apari says Lawrence was sitting on his behind doing the least. Sometimes you outgrow people and that just happens. Crystal Stewart says Lawrence has mixed feelings which is why he avoided seeing Isa hopefully he can move on and find someone he is compatible with, I don't think Tasha is that but who knows. Mm. Interesting, keep the comments coming. All right we have to move on. Moving on, it has to be 1995, because the Juice is loose. [LAUGH] He will be come October. So OJ Simpson was granted. And on parole, and there's a lot of speculation about what he'll do when he becomes a free man again. Will he write a tell all book? Will he enter the reality TV world? Well one thing he won't be is broke. So according to ESPN, OJ will have made over. $400,000 while he was incarcerated for armed robbery. And none of that money ca be touched because NFL pensions are protected by Nevada state law. But critics say that money should go to the family of Ron Goldman, who won a civil case against OJ in the murder of Ron and Simpson's ex wife Nicole. Panelists, I'm really interested to get your thoughts. What say you? Is it time to finally leave OJ alone, or is having OJ literally pay for his alleged crimes The right thing to do, is it slayed or shade? In one, two, three, go. Here we go. You're taking your time, okay. Here we go. [UNKNOWN] let me start with you why is it a slayed. Well, cause he killed them. For the record it was- No, I know. He was acquitted. You know the thing is I think we It's hard for us to separate, once we have information, it's hard for us to separate what Justice is. I think that people kind of go, well he served his time for the armed robbery, but people are still kind of convicting him for a crime that he was found innocent of, you know, but at the same time, he was found guilty civilly, so I definitely think that the Goldman should get their money. << Yeah. << I don't know how that's going to be possible. Again, with the fact that Nevada protects his pension and the NFL does, but I think the Goldman's are entitled to what they were granted through the court system and we have to let him, or if he does go on to do reality TV or a tell all book, that money should definitely go to the Goldman's. Well I feel the same so maybe I should have just said. Shade. I just really feel since they won civil suit they're defiantly entitled to some of that money and it just hurts that the fact that his family still continues to suffer right? And I just feel like It's crazy that that money is protected and who's going to force him- Force him? Because nobody can really force him to pay the money that he owes to that family. How much is it like 30 something million? Couple of million. Yeah it's a few. Danielle? It is. I agree, I mean I think the emotional part is the gray area, I think a lot of people, like Essence was saying, a lot of people put the case of Nicole Brown On him verses this isolated incident of him trying to get back his stuff,I think that he needs to pay them if he owes the money civilly that's crazy I didn't even he still owed them so if he does my God, pay them, but in terms of what's protected it's the law, I feel like it's hard to detach emotional from the law, but if It's his money then in the state of Nevada he's entitled to it. So the consensus is pay what you owe [UNKNOWN] what your saying on social. People are kind of angry. They're angry okay. Sandra Ryan says I'm over this combo with O.J., sit down, go home, and be quiet. So that's the overall consensus. Okay, all right. Well moving right along. We agree he that he should pay. He should totally pay. Ice T wife Coco is the newest nonblack ex celeb about cultural appropriation. She was recently seen on her Instagram page rocking what she called a cocoa shoop. But to you and me, those are cornrows. And now she's clapping back at her haters. Take a look at this. This is what happened. I did my braids and I called them the cocoa swoop. I name all my styles that I do to myself. These are called the cocoa swoop. The braids before were called the Bo Derick braids. And its a cocoa-ism, I've always done it. Why can't we all rename hairstyles or braids? Boderick braids? Okay, so does Coco have a point by saying that she can not only wear cornrows, but she call them whatever she wants? Or should cultural appropriation always get a shade? Panelists, tell me what you think. And go. Shade yes. [LAUGH] We all agree that is a shade. [LAUGH] Laura I'll let you jump it. Yes here's the deal. At first I was like all right I know Coco I've met her several times, she been on my show, and she's a good person. And yeah she does her little cocoisms right? But her clap back video is the one I had an issue with. I'm like, if you're offending people, you can't just sit there like you have no right to feel the way that you do. Of course you do! Especially like, that ain't. That's nothing new. That hairstyle is nothing new, so for you to call it, This is my new do, girl, no it's not. Black women have been doing that forever. Cornrows. And especially the fact that Black women have been Torn down for years for wearing their hair a certain way. Their natural hair. So now you're gonna tell me if somebody feels a certain way about it, you have to respect that. Absolutely, Essence what do you think? I completely agree. That's the part that is disheartening to me. It's like, okay you have these Cocoisms and you like to name your hair and I know a lot of My girlfriends name, they're wigs, it's fine. But that fact that you're being so insensitive to the fact that you have offended Black women. When you know, and you should know by virtue of being married to a Black man. Hello. Hello, that this is something that we struggle with and that we are constantly fighting. Having our things appropriated and put on white women, our culture, our music, our isms, and having it appropriated but then when we do it it's looked down upon. So I think it's an important Kind of stance to take. I mean don't you have biracial kids? Or did black Ryan? Danielle? I agree, 100%. The only additional thing I would say is that names are really important. In culture, in Diasporic cultures, names mean things, they have references. Corn Rows means something. To the slavery, to the process of the actual rows. So to change names may seem like very light and nothing, but names have really heavy meanings. Yeah. And so you can't just change names because, I get it, she doesn't feel like it, but names are attached to meanings, and history, and relatives. Give credit where it's due. They give credit where it's due. Yeah, it's like being Bill Maher, and thinking that because you date women you can say the n-word. You can't say that, uh-uh. Now, we're gonna stop all that. All right, Kayla this topic always has folks talking. What are folks saying on social media? Definitely there are a lot of people on Coco's side. So Felicia Bells says, if she wants to wear corn rows let her wear the corn rows. She says, I dye my hair blonde I'm damn for sure not white. So people need to leave her the hell alone, mind their business. I'm sure she knows quite well she isn't black. So, just let her live her life. << But, where your cornrows? Just give credit where credit is due. Panelists, thank you so much for joining us. Coming up, I'm sweating it out, sweating it out, y'all with personal trainer Robert Brace as he shows how us to get a flatter tummy and a toned bootay! And Joseline Hernandez dishes on what's really behind her beef with producer Mona Scott Young. But first, if you haven't subscribed to Essence's Yes Girl podcast, what are you waiting for? Here's what Girl's Trip star, Regina Hall, told us about the value of girlfriends. [MUSIC] I will say this. I have amazing women in my life who are incredibly smart and give me great advice, supportive, spiritual. So during the times that are difficult, and not necessarily with work, but it could be family or health or. [LAUGH] Relationship. Just always lifts you up and reminds you of whatever it is. It's important even when you're in a romantic relationship with your significant other. You know, it's important as a girlfriend. [MUSIC] You're watching Essence Now. I'm your host Makho Ndlovu, and joining us in the studio is a woman who is no stranger to controversy. Please help me welcome Love and Hip Hop star Jocelyn Hernandez to the show. Hey Puerto Rican Princess. Girl, can I just get that introduction again, I loved that. Yes. Joseline Hernandez. Yes. Joseline Hernandez. Yes you heard it here first. So what is the status? Let's just dive right in? Because Love and Hip Hop is no longer there, so what are you up to? I guess we're going to have to let the fans decide about me just doing the reality. Tabloid TV cuz it's just so much more out there than a girl can really do, you know. But I love reality TV and I executive produced my daughter's delivery special so I love doing TV. And we had 2.1 million viewers. That's awesome. That's amazing. People got to see my family, my Friends, kind of like to see what I do. And see me as a human, as a person. Not so robotic. Yeah, right. So I kind of like that part of things. So, Yeah, I feel like I still feel. So are you still on Love and Hip Hop or is that no? So you're, cuz I hear you say that you're not opposed to reality tv. So there is a chance that you may do something in another vein But is the Love and Hip Hop. Is it still there? No, it's always that chance. And I would like to just do everything that it is that I wanna do. And what would you like to do, in a perfect world? Of course, I'm a musician. I'm pro Latin. So I tour all the boricuas and the Puerto Ricans. And I recently moved to Miami. After I finished filming [UNKNOWN] I went to Miami, took my daughter. So we moved there. And I'm just really focused in pro-Latin sound, the Puerto Rican. Who I am as an artist and as a person And where I come from, and so you know, acting and producing, and doing everything that I love to do. But reality's always there for me. Is always an option. Well since you're in Miami it would kind of make sense to join the Love and Hip Hop Miami cast, right? Right? I didn't go to Miami to do that. You didn't go to, you went there to? I went there to focus on the music, and do what I do best, which is entertain. Mm-hm. You know. But anything could happen. So we just have to keep our eyes peeled. Let's talk about your daughter, Bonnie Bella. First of all, Bonnie is so cute, how is she? She's amazing, thank God. She's teething right now, so I feel kind of bad, but. She's doing good. She's a strong baby. We have an awesome time. She loves Miami, she loves the water, she loves to swim. Look out for her clothing line. She has a clothing line coming out? And you're designing it, fully behind the idea? Yes, you gotta go follow her page so you can kind of understand what kind of Kind of like the brand, Yeah. of things, but she's got a beautiful clothing line coming out, Anna Cologne Yeah, Anna Cologne two? Yeah, it's called by Bella Hernandez Wow. Tiny Bella, her name Okay But that's her instagram, Bella Hernandez, but that's pretty cool Have your kid, I had, I delivered her. And executive produced the delivery, and I get to raise her into a young pretty lady, and set her life up. Set her life up for success. Which is what any mother would love to do. Right, yeah. So let's go back a little bit though, because I think a lot of people were kind of stunned about the allegations of abuse of Stevie and The molestation claims. What are your thoughts on that? In relationships, it's a real thin line between love and hate. And I think that Stevie made mistakes, I think I made mistakes. And I think that we're not the only people in the world that's made mistakes. We're only human. And I think Stevie and I had a good relationship. Yeah. And I think it was a lot of ups and downs. And we made a lot of mistakes. And right now what I really want to is for him and I to just have a good. Good relationship for daughter. Whatever happened, I apologized to him, you know, my daughter. Also for my mistakes that' I've made in the past.- You had the conversation with him already? Well, me and Stevie, we communicate because we got->> You're communicating, you still talk, okay. We got a better together so we have to communicate but, I'm in such a positive place right now and I think my daughter took me there. Yeah. That, [BLANK_AUDIO] Anything that I've done I really just wanted to apologize for it. I love it! And, My daughter know that before she was here, I made mistakes, people made mistakes. But we're gonna work to be better people especially when we have to share something so strong as a kid. Yeah, have you one of the people that kind of had a contentious relationship on the show with was Mimi. Have you had a chance to apologize to her? or have you had a chance to talk to her? I haven't had a chance to talk to her. I really don't communicate with her. I make it all about my kid and I moved to Miami to be in a happy place with my family. All my family lives in Florida cause I'm from Lauderdale. Yeah. And so, that's just where I took it to, like I kind of like Change my past and look for the new me, and the new me being a mother. I've never experienced that, it's my first time. Mm-hm, so your daughter has changed you, and in what ways do you think she has changed you? I mean, she's made your focus more on the music, but in what other personal ways have you seen the growth in yourself? I've been able to say I'm sorry. Being able to be more passive. If a person get upset, I went to the back on the other day [UNKNOWN]. This girl was like Where you going? Don't you see me in line? I'm like my bad. Right. I'm sorry, go ahead Mom. Then I asked her did she wanna drink. I think I'm just in a place where it's like nothing is that serious. The only thing that's really serious is my kid, my career, and my family. And I think that. As you grow up and come up in life we go through so many things especially coming from place like where I came from port in the ghetto. Do you think that contributed to sort of the image that we see growing up her upbringing that contributed the exterior that we saw that was not real Joseline that we are seeing now? Well, you know, the weird Jocelyn that you seen then, it was who I was. At that point. At that point. And who I am now is who I am at this point. And I think that I'm gonna change, again, the older that I get, even to be a better woman. But the Jocelyn that I was, yeah, it did come from the background where I came from, the way I grew up. My Dad died of an overdose. So it's just a lot of things I went through that people really don't know. Yeah. And I says Shaun, what other questions is being asked? Mm-hm. I can feel the sincerity, yeah, I can feel the sincerity coming from you. You don't have to cry, we're family Jocelyn. What are you feeling? What is the. What is bringing the tears, what makes you feel sad? Cuz I feel like a lot of people judge people, they don't even get to know people. So what we saw on Love and Hip Hop these past seasons wasn't really the full spectrum of who you are? Well, what you saw this past season was awesome. I didn't even fight anybody. Yes. I didn't get into any arguments. I walked away from everything. I mean, you see me doing talk shows. I was doing talk shows, I was acting. I wasn't really trying to fight anybody. So [MUSIC] What I don't get is how many people see the wrong things, but they don't ever see the good things that you do. Right so but maybe this new leaf could be an opportunity to turn that over, and show us in a new way since you're not opposed to doing reality TV. So what would you like the new Joscelin to be in five years, five years from now we're having the same Same conversation, we're having the same sit down. You're life is completely, I see the small [UNKNOWN]. What was that new Joseline looking like five years from now? You know? Of course I love to do TV but perform, like in Grammys. Just really be in tune with my fans and my music My performances and my act and my producer, everything that it is Bonnie and I feel like I've been going out, I feel like I almost grew up on tv. Yeah. Because I've been on tv for so many years now. Well, I think we're gonna see a whole new Joscelin. I tell you before you came into this interview, I didn't know what to expect. I was like what is going to happen, but I'm seeing a completely Different side, I don't know if it's the baby or if it's just you're in a different place that you're in. But you're just even letting out a different sort of energy. I mean, I'm only gonna give you what you give me. Okay. If you're giving me a good energy and you're talking to me in a nice way I'm gonna Give you back that. My Angela says, when you know better, you do better. Absolutely. And that's where you are. Jasmine thank you so much for coming by and answering our tough questions. We wish you the very best. More Essence now is up next. [MUSIC] So Syd, we need to talk about Insecure. I have been waiting for so long for this show to come, it feels like I've been waiting for years. Literally my entire life for season two of Insecure to come back and now it's here And girl. So let's dive in. Issa is trying to get her footing. She's trying to figure out what's happening. I understand that she misses Lawrence, but I truly don't think she's thought about why she misses him and why she wouldn't wanna be back Like cause what's gonna change. I think that Isa is a lot of us in that you like miss the idea of someone. True. And you know it was a five year relationship, they were comfortable until things were uncomfortable and then they kind of felt comfortable again until she cheated. She is trying to hold on to that whole, we were in a five year relationship, we can make this work, right? It's not gonna work. Wrong. It's not gonna work because you two have both grown in two different directions, and often times when you outgrow a relationship you just have to let it go. You still love the person, that's fair, you You can, you're allowed to, but like y'all just are two different people at this point. And that's unfortunate. It's very unfortunate. And it's sad, but like maybe they can work to a point where they become friends. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe. Doubt it. That's a lot of baggage for a friendship though. But maybe. That's a lot to unpack before It is. I doubt it [UNKNOWN]. Does Isa know about Tasha? Cuz from the first episode I didn't get that feeling. No, you don't know, no. And I was like. [LAUGH] Because at the end of the episode her and Lawrence hook up and it's kind of like well wait a minute I'm sorry. What? So I have a problem with this. [LAUGH] Because I have a problem. Because at the end when he leaves and she sits on the couch, she has a smile on her face as if it's a symbol of hope. Hope the light girl, no he don't want you. He just wanted the cooch for five seconds two pumps and he was out. Like he does not, that was not hope for a relationship and we saw at the end of last season when he calls her while she's away with her friends. And she took that hope and ran with it right? And I feel like this is going to be another instance of that, and where she gets her hopes up. Because a lot of the times for women sex equals. There's a shot. We're gonna take another step here, or it's gonna lead to something. Where in fact I just have this inkling This really strong feeling that he's gonna be like, girl, I do not want you, but thank you. Absolutely. And I don't need that in my life. [MUSIC] You're watching Essence Now and I'm your host Makho Ndlovu. As you can see, I'm in my workout gear which means I'm ready to put in some work! Now ladies, it's not too late to work on your summer body. Joining me in the studio are two people to help you reach your fitness goals. please help me welcome tv host and influencer, Kayla Walker and personal trainer Robert Brace. Hey guys, thanks for joining me. Hey. Hey, thanks for having us. It's my pleasure. Now before we get started, Kla, can you quickly talk about how you teamed up with Robert to start your fitness journey, and how it's been going? Yeah, of course. I mean, like most women, you wanna look and feel your best, right? And the pounds have caught up with me, got the best of me. And when I got sick and tired of being sick and tired, I found this guy Robert Brace, he has an amazing plan, twenty-eight day challenge, I lost twenty pounds. << Twenty pounds. << Twenty pounds. << In twenty-eight days. << In twenty-eight days. Felt like a slay for life. << Yes! << And be here. << See, they just put the picture up. Exactly, yeah! Wow. 20 pounds. What a transformation. You look amazing. Thank you. Now Robert what do your clients complain about the most when it comes to getting fit and weight loss? Okay, there's three main things, okay. They always want a tight ****, trim waist, and tones arms. Okay. So there's three T's. [CROSSTALK] All right let's jump right in, I'm so ready to work up a sweat and [UNKNOWN] show a series of [UNKNOWN] you can all do at home and at the gym. Now to really focus in on specific parts of our bodies, for each exercise i'll be doing the easier and modified version and Kaylie here will be doing the advanced version. All right, first let's target our lower body. Everybody wants a nice booty. So Robert, what kind of routines will get us bootylicious? Okay, so for the booty, I've got three moves for you, okay? So the first thing. I'm gonna scoot on over. Step onto your mats. Cuz I'm English, we're gonna do the curtsy. The curtsy, all right. Curtsy, now it's very simple, you're gonna stand straight. Keep your torso long, put your hands together. You're just gonna take one foot behind, and stand straight back up. It's the easiest thing in the world. But you wanna get as low as you possibly can. You're African, so let's go, get down. [LAUGH] Me too, me too. Yes. Now, Pam's gonna do the more advanced measure, she's gonna put a bounce in it. Right, just get down, boom. Beautiful, the lower that she gets the more her **** is being activated, her thighs are being activated. This is awesome, okay. Brilliant, I'm loving it. Show me more. Fantastic, so with these you just want to do about 10 reps on each side. 10 okay cool. Let's go down to the mat. Very, very good. For move number two, so this. Is the single leg hip thrust. Okay. You're gonna take one leg to the ceiling, the other leg to the floor, lie back and you're gonna push the hip all the way up and back down to the floor, okay. Okay. Go again, we're gonna do ten of these. Now to get the maximum out of this, you want to take your hips all the way up. All the way up yes I can feel it. Size there, okay one more, one more, one more squeeze. No pain no gain, girl. Take both feet down to the floor, right? What is the advanced version? Now what you're gonna do, you get extra squeezes. Keep the hips up. Okay. Both feet on the floor. Uh-huh. Squeeze the glutes, now Kayla is gonna look like a superhero as she won. [LAUGH] In this position, Okay. There you go. Now as she's doing that, she's using hamstrings and glutes to lift her whole entire body which is pretty awesome. Okay. Round of applause for Kayla. Yeah, Kayla, yeah! [LAUGH] Fantastic. Okay, excellent job. Now, All right, let's move on. Now how long do we hold that one? Now, that one you hold for about thirty seconds. Thirty seconds. Okay. Okay very good .>> And now my favorite move. What's your favorite Robert? Which is a thrust and squat. So the squat and. Squat and thrust, we got it. Squat and thrust, you got it. Let's do it. Here we go. Show it to me. So you go four bounces one, two, three, four. Thrust and squat and thrust and squat. Okay, one. Two, Three, Four. Thrust and squat. Thrust again. This is like a dance. And one and two, get low, and four. If you are dancing I'm not working you hard enough. No,I'm getting low. I'm good. Now the advanced version. We're going to put a little. Yes advanced version. Are you making fun of my voice? No, no, no! Not at all. We're going to do a little jump. Here we go. One two three four thrust. Sit, thrust, sit get low, one two look at that. Dynamite. [UNKNOWN] is a beast. Straight beast and look at that she's smiling too. She's smiling, I think she needs some more. let's [UNKNOWN] and Kaylie. More. What are some exercises for a nice, flat tummy? We all want that. Okay. We all want it. Absolutely. This is one of the number one requests. Let's get back down on the matt. OKay, very good. Now we're going to do a classic move that we've seen a lot. We're just going to do the bicycle. Okay. Right. Now you just want to make sure your abs are always pulled up, you get a good twist, and your core is nice and tight, okay? Okay. For this, you're going to want to do about 20, okay? 20 in total. Yep. Yes, [INAUDIBLE] and you get all the way across. Now, you can have a bicycle without a pump, right? Right right. You just gonna put the pump in and an extra little twist that pumps you put in there is gonna increase the intensity in the abs making you nice and tight. I totally feel it. Yes. You wanna do more or shall we move on? Let's go into the next one. Let's go into the next one. Fantastic. Okay, stay down there. Okay. Now you are going to take the feet right up. Hands behind the head. All you are going to do is touch the toes keeping your abs pulled in. Now if this is too hard for you or strenuous on your neck, keep your hands here and just come up. The advanced move is going to be touch Center, side, side, okay? Let's go! All right. So, let me see. Yes, you've got that. I just feel like I can't straighten my legs. Is that problematic? It's fine, that's not problematic. You're gonna activating your abs. Fantastic job there. And breathe, breathe, breathe. Good, and let's see this. Yes. There you go, poster child. Let's get it, couple more. Fantastic job. Let's move on to some more. I just, I love these. [LAUGH] But it's also important to eat well as well, right? Yes look. Can't get those abs. Any program, especially for the summer body, abs are made in the kitchen. You've got to eat clean, lots of natural, non-processed fruits and veggies. Lean meats and just make sure you're controlling your portions, right, yeah? And no cocktails. And no, limited cocktails, limited. I mean, well, if you really wanna play, you know. But I'm with you, limited cocktails. Limited cocktails, one last core exercise Robert, show them what you got. Okay, so this is what we're gonna do. We're gonna do simple movement that everybody knows but we're gonna do it right, okay, perfect plank. Perfect plank. Feet together. Like this one? Okay. I'm ready. I feel like, right? Yes. [CROSSTALK] Yes, let me see. You got the sister love right here? [CROSSTALK] Yes! Yes! Sister love? Okay. This is what makes it work, when you have somebody to do it with! You're gonna pull your heads in. Okay, now, here's the thing. Look into each other's eyes. Booties down. Look into each other's eyes. [CROSSTALK]. I can't do it! Here we go. You can do it! I know I can't do it! If I can do it, you can do it! Two, three, go. There you go! Okay! Come on, stay low. Come on! My God. This is your sister love right here. Come on hold that. 5,4,3,2 there you go. You guys! My gosh! Yes! You did it! Good job. Lastly, let's target our upper body. Okay. I don't know about y'all, but I'm trying to have sculpted arms. Sculpted arms? Like Angela Basset or Michelle Obama. So Robert? Make it happen, please. Okay, you said the MO word so we're gonna make that happen. Very simple okay, you're going to keep your body nice and long and your core nice and tight. First thing, just the biceps okay? Just the biceps. Double bicep curl all the way up Good, keep your core nice and tight, shoulder blades back .Now the advanced version, now I want you to see this very quickly, Kayla's abs are nice and pulled up. Every work out you do, you're gonna make sure your abs are nice and tight. She's just gonna go centre and side. Okay? And side. Center and side, and that's the advanced version. All right. Okay? Okay, and for these, you wanna do about ten to 15, depending on your strength level. Okay. Okay? Ten to 15 reps. Three sets? Okay? Three sets. Oooh, look at you. Yeah? Okay. [LAUGH] [CROSSTALK] All right. To go. Okay, so next thing. Yeah. Is shoulders. Double shoulder raise. Okay. Okay? So you're just gonna stay up, you bring the dumbbell straight up. Now you always want to make sure your chest is up, your shoulder blades are back, you maintain good form, don't just throw them up there. Yeah. You don't need a lot of weight for these, because these are a small muscle group, okay? Now how high up should my arms go? You just want to go parallel to the floor, straight out from your body, no higher than that. Now, Kayla will do the more advanced version, which is up here And then to the side. Okay. Good straight up. She keeps her core nice and long, her posture is perfect. You can see those arms working. Okay? Fantastic job. Fantastic. Listen arms are my strength. Let's do one last one. One last one? Okay, okay. This is for the finish. For the big finish. I'm in it for the long hall, I'm in it. Okay, come on let's go. All the way down. Your fingers are gonna point toward your ****. Okay, you're gonna extend your arms so they're nice and straight. And what I want you to do is a little bend and straighten. you're gonna get the triceps right? So many women talk about, they just want to wave their hands and not this part right here. Okay, so this gets rid of the jiggle and the wiggle. Now, for the advance version you're gonna put five bounces in, one, two, Three, four, five, extend, look at that. And you can see that, go again. Thank you very much, one, two, three, four, five, extend. And one more for the people out there, come on Michelle Obama, two, three, four. Michelle O, coming right there, thank you so much. [APPLAUSE] I'm sharing her [UNKNOWN], it's amazing. [LAUGH] I love it, thank you so much to Robert and Kayla for sharing some super great and super easy exercise routines with us.
