Wyclef Empowers Haiti, Receives Award
Wyclef was honored with the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights' Ripple for Hope Award last night, for his efforts to fight poverty and empower the people of his native Haiti. The entertainer's non-proffit orgainization Yele Haiti offers disaster and hunger relief and supports education systems in the island nation--the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Bono from U2 was also honored for his work to combat the AIDS epidemic in Africa with his advocacy organization ONE and (Product) RED.
