Pulitzer Prize-winning author Alice Walker is traveling to Gaza along with other female activists in an effort to help the residents of Gaza, according to the Associated Press. “The Color Purple” author will travel to Gaza along with about 60 other women to deliver aid and meet with residents. The trip, organized by the United States antiwar group Code Pink, is intended to push both Israel and Egypt to open the borders into Gaza. Members of the group intend to stay in Gaza until March 11.—BB
