By · September 26, 2008October 30, 2020
01
Robin Roberts

From college basketball star to ESPN host to coanchor of “Good Morning America,” Roberts knows how to work her way to the main stage. She’s traveled to Africa with former President Clinton to bring viewers a firsthand look at the crippling AIDS crisis. In March of 2007, Roberts published her first book, “From the Heart: Seven Rules to Live By,” explaining how success is not a source of magic. If she can do it, so can you.

Star Jones

She wasn’t named Star for nothing. Juanita Bynum

As a Bible teacher, prophet, psalmist, author and entrepreneur, Bynum is clearly on a mission. Her first Threshing Floor conference in April 2006 attracted more than 60,000 attendees to Atlanta. She currently has three worship CDs and also spreads the word through her books, including “No More Sheets,” and The New York Times best seller, “The Threshing Floor.”

She got her first name of recognition at Motown, where she helped to produce television specials starring big names like The Temptations, Diana Ross & The Supremes, and The Jackson 5. After serving as president of Motown Productions, she started De Passe Entertainment Group, LLC, which continues to create hit shows and films such as “Class Act,” “Sister, Sister,” and “It’s Showtime at the Apollo.”
