Will Whitney Houston join the remake of 1976's "Sparkle?"
Will Whitney Houston join the cast of “Sparkle?” According to several news outlets, including Billboard.com, the “Million Dollar Bill” diva is in talks to make her silver screen comeback.
Jordin Sparks and Mike Epps are both confirmed for the 1976 remake — with Sparks snagging the title role like a true champion. While Houston’s role isn’t yet clear, she’s expected to play Sparks’ unsupportive mother.
If Houston does agree to join the production, it will be her first film in years, 15 years, in fact. She hasn’t made a film since 1996’s “The Preacher’s Wife.” Not to forget she’s also expected to join the rest of the original cast of “Waiting to Exhale” for the highly anticipated sequel, “Getting to Happy.”
We’re looking forward to seeing how this pans out, and we expect nothing but the best from Houston.
