With a new movie, “Seven Pounds,” and a booming career, Will Smith, has many reasons to feel charitable these days. The star and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith donated $1.3 million last year to various religious, civic and arts groups, according to Fox News, who got the information from their just-released 2007 tax return statements. Smith’s biggest single contribution was, as usual, to Yesha Ministries of Philadelphia. The born-again Christian-based organization run by Reverend James Robinson received a whopping $250,000 from Smith. He also gave $122,500 to the Church of Scientology. We wonder if this is because of his close relationship to friend, fellow actor and Scientologist Tom Cruise?
