Family is important to Alicia Keys. These days she’s always gushing about her son, Egypt. But is he ready to take after his musically inclined parents?
Entertainment Weekly caught up with Keys to get the scoop on her new album, Girl on Fire, and if little Egypt had any plans to make his musical debut similar to Blue Ivy on Jay-Z’s “Glory.”
“I don’t know,” said Keys. “He might need a cameo, you know what I mean? He might. I don’t know what’s going to happen.” However, Keys did say there may be space for him on one particular song. “He may need to say a couple words. There’s one song in particular called ‘When It’s All Over’ that he may need a little feature on. So we’ll see.”
When asked if she thinks Egypt and Blue Ivy will ever make an album together Keys laughed and said, “I’m telling you, I think that they’re going to have a big future.”
Egypt isn’t the only one with a big future ahead of him. Keys will debut a brand new song on the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards on September 6 and the very next day she will perform for Stand Up to Cancer. Weeks later she will tape her very own VH1 Storytellers episode which will air on November 12. Her fifth studio album is slated to be released on November 27.
