Less than 24 hours after the world learned of pop legend Whitney Houston’s untimely death, her album sales were already soaring through the roof.
On Sunday (February 12), eight Houston albums made their way to Amazon’s CD best-seller charts, with The Greatest Hits coming in at No. 1. Soundtracks for the movies Waiting to Exhale and The Bodyguard, both of which starred Houston and feature multiple songs from her, also made the list.
Houston’s hits are making a sudden appearance on the digital sales charts as well. Eight of the queen of pop’s albums were listed in the Top 100 on iTunes this morning, and The Greatest Hits is No. 1. Both the deluxe and original versions of her debut album Whitney Houston also appear.
Houston was found unresponsive in her Beverly Hills hotel room on Saturday (February 11). Her official cause of death has not been revealed, although an autopsy is planned.
