After much speculation, the rumors are finally being put to rest!
Singer Whitney Houston will be starring in the remake of “Sparkle” due in theaters in 2014. She will play the role of Sparkle’s mother.
This will be the diva’s first film role in 15 years. R&B singer Jordin Sparks has signed to play the film’s leading role, and “Notorious” actor Derek Luke recently signed on as well.
A team of professional stylists including b Michael of b Michael America, and costume designer Ruth Carter will work together to create the vision for Whitney Houston’s wardrobe. We’re sure they’ll have her glowing.
This is the second film announcement for Houston. In the coming year she’s also expected to step back in the shoes of Savannah in the “Waiting to Exhale” sequel, “Getting to Happy.”
