The legendary singer denies claims that she's in financial turmoil.
Yesterday, the internet was buzzing with rumors that Whitney Houston was holding on by a string financially. Today, the diva released a statement to CNN calling those allegations are “false and ridiculous.”
Her reps made it clear that she’s not having a cash flow problem by pointing to her current film project, “Sparkle.”
The “I Will Always Love You” singer plays Sparkle’s mother Emma, in the remake of the classic film. Her rep continues, “People get paid to make movies. [Houston’s] not broke.”
Radar Online reported yesterday that Houston had blown through the accumulated fortune she earned over the course of her 27-year-career. The gossip site claims that Houston is being supported by “music industry heavy-hitters” and that she is indeed “broke.” A source told Radar that she even had to call to borrow $100.
Sparkle is set to hit theaters on August 10.
