Here’s what’s trending today:

White supremacist Jacob Scott Goodwin, one of the men who attacked DeAndre Harris during a rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, has been found guilty of malicious wounding, with the jury recommending 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine along with the suggestion that he enter a rehabilitation program. Goodwin tried to argue that he was attacking in self-defense when he and others beat Harris on video. He is expected to be sentenced in August. Last month, Harris was found not guilty of the charges brought against him in the same incident. (Associated Press)

A Black man, who was also a former Obama staffer, was accused of burglary on Friday as he moved into his Upper West Side apartment. Police responded to a call that a possibly armed man was trying to break into an apartment, when in fact, Darren Martin was just trying to move in. Martin told reporters that his skin color in a gentrified neighborhood may have been the reason someone called the police. (Pix11)

Frank Ocean briefly took to social media to shade Kanye West and his continued support of conservatives. Ocean mocked Kanye’s “I love the way Candace Owens thinks” tweet with “I like the way Michelle Wolf thinks,” a reference to Michelle Wolf, the comedian who recently performed at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Imagine the clownery you have to be up to for Frank Ocean to come out of hiding. (Tumblr)

Tiffany Haddish is flawless and funny in a new promo for the MTV Movie & TV Awards. The comedian and actress is set to host the annual event and if the latest promo is any proof, she’s going to kill it. (Instagram)

Kanye West has beefed up security following threats from Crips. In a since-deleted video, rapper Daz Dillinger called on gang members to “f–k Kanye up.” Dillinger said in the video, “Yo! National alert: All the Crips out there, y’all f–k Kanye up.” The rapper added that he “better not ever see” West in concert or around California. (E! Online)

A South Carolina high school senior who died in a car accident was voted prom queen the day after her death. Tiara Bryant-Geter was killed in an accident after attempting to change lanes and overcorrecting. Immediately after the 18-year-olds death, students at Dorman High School took to social media to share that they wanted to elect her for prom queen. The post, shared on Facebook, added that it was a “thoughtful way to pay tribute” to Tiara. (People)

A Virginia man has filed a lawsuit against the lifeguard and police who saved him after he attempted to drown himself. Mateusz Fijalkowsk, a pool attendant at Riverside Apartments in Fairfax County, reportedly began acting strangely three days into his job, arguing with guests and ripping off a woman’s wristband. The 21-year-old then walked into the shallow end of the pool before submerging himself in the deep end. (Fox News)

A white football coach in New Jersey says he was forced to resign because there were too many Black players on the team. Nick Strom says he was asked by Camden Catholic High School president Mary Whipkey to “get more white players on the field” during the 2014 season. Whipkey has denied that the racial makeup of the team was the reason for Strom’s firing.
