Tessanne Chin, the winner of season five of The Voice, just signed a record deal with ICM Partners, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The songstress from Adam Levine’s team wowed audiences with her powerful vocals and won season five of the hit singing competition in December.
During the show, she was the only contestant to hit number one on iTunes’ song chart with her cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and her performance of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing,” a cover that ultimately won her the title of “The Voice.”
Just as all four judges battled to coach her after her blind audition on the show, it didn’t take long for record labels to take notice.
Chin will be recording her debut album, which is due out on Universal Republic Records later this year.
