President Obama visited Flint Michigan, Wednesday per the invitation of 8 year-old Little Miss Flint, Mari Copeny. Mari acquired the nickname Little Miss Flint for her activism in the community as one of the children affected by Flint’s water crisis.

In her letter to the president she wrote, “I know this is probably an odd request but I would love for a chance to meet you or your wife. My mom said chances are you will be too busy with more important things, but there is a lot of people coming to these buses and even just a meeting from you or your wife would really lift people’s spirits.”

To which President Obama obliged. Here they are meeting for the first time:

"When something like this happens, a young girl shouldn't have to go to Washington to be heard. I thought her President should come to Flint to meet with her." —President Obama on 8-year-old Mari Copeny. Mari, AKA "Little Miss Flint", wrote to the President about how she's working to bring attention to the public health crisis in her community, and yesterday she met the President in Michigan.

Heart still intact? We warned you it would be adorable.

During his visit, POTUS also drank a glass of water from Flint, saying, “I really did need a glass of water. This is not a stunt.”
