Fate for the van driver in the Freddie Gray case will be decided on Thursday.
NBC announced that a verdict will come for Caesar Goodson, the officer charged with second-degree “depraved heart” murder for the death of Baltimore man Freddie Gray.

Gray died on April 19, 2015, one week after he was arrested and placed in the back of a police van without a seatbelt. Upon arriving to the police station, Gray was unresponsive. He was taken to an area hospital, where he died a week later. A medical examiner said that his spine was severed, and he suffered injuries synonymous with those of a high-speed car accident.
Edward Nero, one of the six officers standing trial for Gray’s death was found not guilty in May. In December, a jury ruled a mistrial for Officer William Porter but he is expected to take the stand again this summer.
Porter testified that during the ride to the police station, Gray requested to be taken to the hospital to receive medical attention but his pleas were ignored.
The verdict is expected to come down in Goodson’s case on Thursday at 10 a.m.
