It’s been a great year for Usher, Sade and Lil’ Wayne. According to Billboard’s “Top 25 Tours” list, the three are among the top 25 grossing concert acts of 2011.
Usher’s “OMG” tour came in at number seven on the list, with over 922,000 tickets sold and grossing just under $75 million across 73 shows.
It’s obvious that fans were eager to see Sade make her long-awaited comeback. Her world tour, which marked the end of the singer’s 10-year hiatus, took the number 10 spot and sold over 588,000 tickets, grossing a little over $53 million for 59 shows.
Rapper Lil Wayne “I Am Music II” tour came in at number 14, with 712,000 tickets sold and a gross of over $46 million across 69 shows.
A noticeably absent pop star on the list is Rihanna, who’s worldwide “Loud” tour made headlines and reportedly saw sold-out stadiums all year long. Rumors of the singer’s lagging ticket sales have plagued her tour.
