Taking time off from golf could cost Tiger Woods an estimated $180 million, reports the New York Post. With all his endorsements in jeopardy – Gillette has pulled the plug, while AT&T and Accenture are ‘evaluating’ their relationship with him – Woods may be crying all the way to the bank.
He rakes in an estimated $100 million a year from endorsements, that’s not including the money he makes from tournaments and appearances. Analysts tell the Post the superstar golfer most likely had a “morality clause” in his contracts that would allow sponsors to release him if, say, 13 women came forward claiming to have bagged him.
But he won’t be the only one feeling the pinch. Woods was the star child of PGA golf tournaments, and if he doesn’t show, chances are the crowds won’t either.
