The Coast Guard called off its search Tuesday for Oakland Raiders linebacker Marquis Cooper, free-agent defensive lineman Corey Smith and former University of South Florida player William Bleakley, who took to sea for a routine fishing trip off the coast of the Gulf of Florida. The only man to be found thus far, Nick Schuyler, provided as many details as possible to aid in the search. The men were all able to swim under the boat to get life vests and stayed together for some time, but the harsh winds and rocky waves may have separated the men from each other. Now family members are forced to organize a private search for the men. The families of all three men continue to hold on to hope that they will be found alive.—WLW
