Universal Republic Records just announced a groundbreaking, multifaceted record deal with Grammy award-winning artist and producer Lil Jon. The deal will have the self-proclaimed “King of Crunk” working for the label as an artist, producer, and A&R consultant with a digital presence. No word on exactly how big a check Lil Jon will be taking home as a result of this new agreement.
Universal Republic Records President and CEO Monte Lipman added, “”Lil Jon is a larger-than-life figure who casts a giant shadow over every facet of the entertainment business. I view him as our Urban Music Czar!”
