Twitter Rants
By · Updated October 29, 2020
01
#12 Chris Brown

The Deets: Chris Brown is notorious for throwing a Twitter temper tantrum. So when his ex-girlfriend Rihanna tweeted that she will now control her Twitter feed, Brown allegedly took a stab at Ri-Ri’s announcement.

The Tweets: “TWITTER JUST GOT WACK!!!!!!!”

Result: Negative. Even if this tweet wasn’t in response to Ri-Ri, it makes him look like the bitter ex.

02
#11 Chris Brown’s Mother

The Deets: Sick of her son being public enemy #1, Chris Brown’s mom Joyce Hawkins showed the world where he got his over-the-top Twitter rants from. Michael Jackson, who is gone for a little over a year now, was the target of Ms. Hawkins’ rant in her Rwitter (random tweet).

The Tweets: “MICHAEL JACKSON DIED SO THAT CHRIS BROWN COULD LIVE!!!!!!!”

Result: Negative. Disrespectful, inappropriate, distasteful, and shameful.

Twitter Rants
03
#10 Russell Simmons

The Deets: Out of the blue, Russell Simmons revealed that he was planning to sue the very label he birthed in 1984. Everyone was clueless to the details.

The Tweets: "Can’t believe I’m suing Def Jam. They are now trying to eat my lunch? Unbelievable bullies. Unprecedented stupidity on their part.” He later tried to retract statement tweeting, “Oops my lawyers are pissed. I wasn’t supposed to tweet dat :-(”

Result: Neutral. It seems as soon as he deleted both tweets, no one talked about it ever again.

#9 Brian White

The Deets: Rumors have swirled throughout White’s career that he was an homosexual. So after tying the knot, the internet went crazy trying to find fault in his interracial marriage, and actor Brian White went on Twitter to shut it down — kinda.

The Tweets: While White actually didn’t originally tweet anything himself, he did take the time to re-tweet a bunch of messages from those in support of his marriage. When finished RT’ing he finally tweeted a disclaimer: “NOTE: My RT’s of ur tweets do NOT = my opinion.”

Result: Neutral. At the end of the day how concerned are we with Brian White anyways?

#7 Fantasia

The Deets: Before everything happened with Fanny regarding her relationship and health woes, Fantasia Barrino made headlines when it was revealed she was illiterate. Even after obtaining her GED, Fantasia was still being mocked for her smarts and went on Twitter to address the subject.

The Tweets: “I deal with a lot and I stay away from all the negative! …But know this about me, I’m far from dumb, but God will do the rest of the talking for me. Even when they try and Knock me Down (Record Company, Haters) This will be my Last Time on here.”

Result: Negative. Not a good look when people mix their anger with what would Jesus do, plus why get off Twitter if no one can knock you down?

07
#6 Ne-Yo

The Deets: After the newly released inmate T.I and wife Tiny were arrested for drug possession, Ne-Yo decided to add his two-cents saying, “It’s time for T.I. to get his life together.” Ne-Yo later was upset when he insisted his statement was taken out of context, and tried to ensure he had no beef with the rapper.

The Tweets: “Much love to the people that support T.I. S**t I’M A SUPPORTER of T.I., so I understand your anger. But from now on, if you want to know if I said something, the Internet ain’t the proper source. Hit me up on here and ask before you assume.”

Result: Neutral. It wasn’t that serious, many people agreed with Ne-Yo’s first statement about T.I. getting it together.

#5 Kanye West

The Deets: Last year at the MTV VMA’s Kanye West jumped on stage and stole Taylor Swift’s shine when he said she didn’t deserve her award. The incident left West publicly ostracized for a year, and Kanye recently decided to use Twitter as a means to vent.

The Tweets: “Even though the NBC telethon was widely praised yall didn’t think they was just gone let me get away with that did yall???!!! With the help of strong will, a lack of empathy, a lil alcohol and extremely distasteful & bad timing I became George Bush over night. How deep is the scar, I bled hard…I’m sorry Taylor"

Result: Positive. Kanye West’s Twitter tears caused more to forgive him than Chris Brown’s BET tears.

09
#4 John Legend

The Deets: While being honored with the humanitarian award at the 2010 BET Awards in June, audiences seemed distracted by the slightly off hairline Legend was sporting. So much so that instantly #JohnLegendsHairline became a trending topic on Twitter.

The Tweets: The next day John tweeted “Btw, my hairline has been the same since I was a kid. Can’t believe some people are obsessing about it now. I’ve been famous for 6 yrs now. And to the haters, I’m still smarter, more talented, more successful and better looking than u. So fall back."

Result: Positive. After clearly realizing he was ‘men-struating,’ he later apologized and said he was back focusing on his music.

#3 50 Cent

The Deets: Apparently Perez Hilton called Curtis Jackson a bad name, and the rapper, notorious for picking a fight, started a war.

The Tweets: “Perez Hilton called me a douchebag so I had my homie shoot up a gay wedding. Wasn’t his but still made me feel better.” The tweet was accompanied by a photo of two men in suits running from an angry mob of people.

Result: Negative. The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation leaders have lashed out at the rapper for insensitive remarks asking he retract.

Twitter Rants
11
#2 Christina Milian

The Deets: After pictures surfaced of her ex-husband The Dream frolicking with his mistress, her divorce from the singer was confirmed and the new mother had a lot to deal with. So when the insensitive NY DJ Funkmaster Flex thought it would be funny to poke fun at her on Twitter stating she was finished and that “Dream just wrapped you up,” C-Milli shut him down.

The Tweets: “@funkmasterflex when will u just leave me alone and get a life? I swear all uve ever done is pick on me. What’s ur problem dude? Go away.”

Result: Positive. Not only did she reserve the right to tell Funkmaster Flex off, if there was a slap button on Twitter that would of been the time to push it.

#1 Tameka Raymond

The Deets: Usher’s ex wife Tameka, like Chris Brown, is one to always go off on Twitter. In a year, Raymond has used Twitter to cuss out Usher, his divorce lawyer, tell her side of the story, and throw shots at Chilli. Fed up with people teasing her, Tameka targeted radio host Elle Duncan who said, “I’m Elle Raymond… What? I can use it too, I’m not married to him either!”

The Tweets: “@elleduncan if you ever had someone twisted in life it’s me boo…Ol Sponge Bob shape havin, chewed up pump wearing, debutante gown savin for a radio show, Girl don’t EVER try me again in life. Seriously.”

Result: Negative. Tameka loves to delete her tweets or claim her Twitter was hacked as a retraction. Stand by it or don’t say it.
