This funny girl is moving into the late–night arena, giving Letterman, Fallon and O’Brien a run for their jokes. The nightly hourlong part talk, part variety show is full of her usual unrestrained truth telling that’s sure to keep us from flipping the channel.
“Clean House” (Style Network)
Only Nash can make cleaning up and home renovation a fun activity. With her side-eye glances, she gets you to stop the foolishness and start clearing away the clutter.
“The Wanda Sykes Show” (FOX)
She’s never been one to hold her tongue. You can expect the same with her high energy one-hour talk show. Sykes serves up a hard-hitting comedic spin on pop culture, politics and everything in between.
“Brothers” (FOX)
She may be known for bringing the drama, but this season she’ll make you laugh as the saucy and stern mother who tries to keep the peace while her two sons (Michael Strahan and Daryl “Chill” Mitchell) keep bickering.
“House of Payne” (TBS)
As matriarch Ella Payne, she continues to overcome drama but her methods of handling family friction remain the same: “lead by example, and every once in a while, hit ’em where it hurts, but don’t really mean it.”
“Meet The Browns” (TBS)
Mann’s character, Cora Simmons, is the sanity between Madea’s crazy antics and her father, Mr. Brown. She keeps an encouraging spirit while trying to figure out how to deal with a house full of newcomers: “You just stand in between and holler a good ‘Can’t we all just get along?!’ ”
“Ugly Betty” (ABC)
Who says a bad girl can’t make you laugh too? Sometimes, all you can do is chuckle at the the self-absorbed villainess’s crazy antics.
“Sherri” (Lifetime)
Along with her gabfest on “The View,” host Sherri is starring in a new sitcom loosely based on her own experience as a single mom, paralegal and actress who’s dealing with dating after a divorce.
“Community” (NBC)
What happens when a group of misfits attempt to change their lives by enrolling in community college? Plenty of jokes. Brown is sure to give you some belly-aching laughs.
