Stella McCartney’s new fragrance, POP by Stella McCartney is a nod to the new Millennial woman, and she’s chosen the perfect girl boss crew to be the face of the fragrance. Think: Lourdes Leon, Claire Boucher, Amandla Stenberg and Kenya Kinski-Jones. This is the first scent that McCartney has released in four years, and it’s sure to be a trailblazing one. The designers philosophy is that “fragrance and cosmetics should enhance each woman’s uniqu beauty, not distract or overpower it.”
The fragrance, appropriately titled, “POP” is an effervescent scent that cocktails the floral freshness of tuberose with the cool earthiness of sandalwood to ground the scent. Supremely feminine, the scent perfectly captures the youthful energy of the Millennial muses who are fronting the campaign.
This may actually be the first fragrance and campaign duo that is actually much more of a attitude than a product. POP is about passion unbridled, freedom and independence. “POP is a spirit. It’s about capturing and celebrating that very special and exciting time when you are finding yourself and coming into your own. It’s about freedom, and starting your life away from judgments or labels,” comments McCartney.
