The ax has officially dropped on CW’s “The Game,” according to USA Today. The “Girlfriends” spin-off had been in limbo since CW cancelled “Everybody Hates Chris” earlier in the year and the network has confirmed the lone Black show will not return to the network in the fall. Creator and executive producer Mara Brock Akil had hoped to transform the half-hour sitcom into an hourlong drama, as the company shifts its format. Last week’s season finale was indeed the end of the series. CW also announced a new series starring Corbin Bleu called “The Beautiful Life.” —CJ
