Music legend Stevie Wonder has worked with Beyoncé on numerous occasions over the years and he had plenty to say about her growth as a musician in a recent interview with Billboard.
Opening up about his observations of the songstress from her early beginnings as a member of Destiny’s Child to her successful solo career, Stevie brought up Bey while speaking on the many talented artists in music today.
“There’s so many talented people out there. I’ve seen for instance, you know, Beyonce from the very beginning of her career when she was with a group and then her as a single artist. I’ve listened to the music mature and so now we have Lemonade, which is to me a great work. A great art piece.” Stevie went on to offer up a little advice to Beyoncé, suggesting that she make a slight adjustment to the availability of her song lyrics. “If I were to say anything to her I’d say, ‘look, why don’t you get the words written in braille so that every single person can read the lyrics of the music.’ It’d be great,” he told the outlet.
In addition to giving his thoughts on Lemonade, Stevie also confirmed rumors of a new project in the works.
“I’ll tell you the title. The title of the project is Through The Eyes Of Wonder and….I’m excited about it. We’ve got some great people participating in it. We’ve got some great singers, some new singers, some new talent and I’m just excited about being a part of this thing called music. I thank God everyday for that.”
Stevie also reminisced on receiving his first award at the age of 13 at The Apollo Theater. Check out the quick interview in full via the video clip below.
