Every day we feature the beloved “Strawberry Letter” franchise that is so popular on “The Steve Harvey Morning Show” heard nationwide. Send in your letters and Shirley Strawberry will dish out the necessary advice. Today’s topic: Moving Out! Hey Steve,  I’m a 21-year-old young man that is in desperate need of advice! My father passed when I was 12, so I have very few men to choose from when it comes to advice! I am currently in a relationship that has lasted 2+ years, I’ve even asked her to marry me, and she said yes! But I was thinking that I would be the one setting the pace of the relationship, but she wants to move forward! I’m not ready to move out of my mother’s house yet! I always had this vision of me being comfortable in my career/job situation when I decide to step out. I’m scared, Steve. She even tries to give me target dates of when I need to be ready to fly the coop. I even made a career change to pursue being a police officer because it won’t take long to start and I can at least have some comfort when I move out even if it is still too early for my standards. I’m  still waiting to start the academy, therefore I’m unemployed. What do I do? Oh and by the way, she says I put her second, but tried to explain to her that when you stack yourself next to my mom, you are second because momma’s all I have left and I know that’s the one person that will have my back when all else fails. Was I wrong? Please help me! Hurry up, I’m typing this on my iPhone while she’s in the shower. Gotta take her to work… To submit your own letter to Strawberry Letter, click here.
