Today’s topic: My boyfriend has “stipulations” Hey Shirley and Steve, My boyfriend and I have been dating for a year and a half now. He is 25-years-old, and I just recently turned 30-years-old. Our relationship is good, in fact we have been discussing marriage, but I am concerned about his many stipulations of what he will and will not do. These stipulations are causing a lot of tension and problems in our relationship because I am starting to think twice about our future together. I am a very family-oriented person. I believe in compromising, and I would like to have a child when we marry. Unfortunately, my boyfriend is NOT family-oriented, UNcompromising, and does not want another child. Yes, I said another child. He has a child from a previous relationship, and so do I. I do not want to continue on this way, please help.
