Every day we feature the beloved “Strawberry Letter” franchise that is so popular on “The Steve Harvey Morning Show,” heard nationwide. Send in your letters and Shirley Strawberry will dish out the necessary advice. Today’s topic: My husband’s church Dear Steve, I’ve been happily married for 15 years. However, when my husband asked me to marry him we both were active in seperate churches and I told him that I would join his church. I felt God’s holy spirit at our wedding, and he is the best husband in the whole wide world. However, the members of his church are evil and jealous-hearted. I’ve been hurt in that church so many times with people that say they are saved, but gossip and talk about you behind you back. I’m not use to that. I have told him that I was unhappy there and all he can say is pray about it and don’t let people get to you. I’m not being spiritually fed. The only thing I love doing in that church is teaching the little children. My husband is the head deacon and I wouldn’t dare ask him to leave his church, but he has no compassion for the way that I feel. All he can say is pray about it. I’ve been praying for God to change my heart and for the people that I have to deal with at his church; I’ve been praying for 15 years and I’m still unhappy. Steve, do you have any advice? PS. If you read my letter on your show, please do not use my name, for fear that listeners might hear this and it could cause more problems at his church. Make up a name. Even if you do not read the letter on the air, please send me an answer via email. Signed, Desperate to be saved and stay saved
