Strawberry Letter” franchise that is so popular on “The Steve Harvey Morning Show,” heard nationwide. Send in your letters and Shirley Strawberry will dish out the necessary advice. Today’s topic: I miss my mom! Dear Morning Show, My mother has always been the single parent of only me, even when my parents were together she was still a single mother and she has been my best friend and really the only person I could count on. After many years of being single, she has started dating someone who kind of reminds me of Flavor Flav without the gold teeth and clock of course. Dont get me wrong I am happy that she found someone but she is a gorgeous woman and can date whomever she chooses. She chose him so who am I to judge her taste. My first problem is that since shes started dating him, shes completely checked out. She has cut all conversation with me except for the basics (I start talking she shuts her ears). I feel like Ive lost my mother and best friend. My second issue is that I feel he is an opportunist, for many reasons that I cant get into (they both listen faithfully). What I can say is that my mom is a financially successful woman who is sometimes too nice for her own good. I almost forgot to mention that we had a huge confrontation about and now there is no conversation between us at all not one single word. My question to you all is A) Am I wrong for feeling abandoned? B) How do I get her to realize that I have only her best interest at heart? and C) How do I begin to repair our almost irretrievably broken bond? Thank you for you time. Sincerely,I miss my mom.
