Today’s topic: I lied Hello Steve, I am really new to this, but I have a horrible situation, which I’d like to discuss. I am 29 years old and I had been dating a man for about four months. Things were wonderful. I have sincerely never felt this way about anyone I have ever dated before in my adult years. Recently, we just discovered that we knew a mutual person. That person knew something about my prior dealings with an unfavorable man who was in a lot a trouble. Even though my involvement with this person was very brief (maybe 3 weeks) I was embarrassed and ashamed that a woman like me would have dealt with a person like that and wanted to move on from and leave it in the past. So when the guy I was currently with asked me had I dealt with him, I emphatically denied that situation in my pass, hoping that it would never get brought up again. Well he would not let it go and asked me repeatedly if I dealt with this guy and after the constant badgering I confessed. He is very upset and refuses to speak with me because I originally lied in the first place. What should I do? Should I move on and forget about him? Or should I beg for his forgiveness and hope and pray that he comes back after my sincere apology? Sincerely, Asking for forgiveness
