“To put 14 episodes together it takes nine months,” she says. “I work, and this is not an exaggeration, 17 to 19 hours a day, seven days a week. I absolutely have no life. I take three-hour naps at night.”
But her work is not all in vain. Single Ladies has returned to much fanfare and buzz amid cast changes, further motivating Littlejohn to keep her eyes on the prize. She says she’s planning to model her career after Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal writer and creator Shonda Rhimes. “I keep telling people that I want to be her when I grow up,” says Littlejohn. “I think what she’s doing is awesome and she’s a role model for me. I definitely want to attempt to do a version of what she’s doing and have my hands in a lot of different pots and have a lot of different shows on the air.”
As for the future, Littlejohn says she’s already cooking up new shows. “My mind is whirling and I hope I can keep it going.”
Check out Single Ladies on VH1 tonight at 9 p.m., when the show’s newest hottle, Ricky Whittle, will make his debut.
